Youth for Single Room OccupancyBeginning in 2006, YSRO was founded and is the sister program of AAA. Single Room Occupancy, also known as SRO's, were developed during the California Gold Rush as a temporary living solution for gold miners. However, this form of housing has remained to this day, providing a more affordable living situation for the elderly. SRO's often contain one room, and residents share other living facilities. Thus, YSRO was formed to help the elderly in these living situations and assist them in adapting to the changing atmosphere of San Francisco.
