We went to visit Columbia University. I personally am not a big fan of Columbia’s architectural styles. Partly is because I was overheated with NY’s humid air and there wasn’t any AC in the buildings we visited in Columbia. But don’t judge a book by its cover, Columbia is a great university and has many fantastic programs for graduate studies!
Later the day, we visited the Trinity Church. I felt a sense of tranquility as I was entering the church. Because of the sense of tranquility that inspired me, I stayed an extra 30 minutes in the church while others went out to explore Wall Street and the NY Stock exchange. Battery Park left a strong impression to me. Battery Park situated near the coast, you very close to the ocean. As I was walking towards the ocean, I could feel the refraction of the sea! No kidding, coastal erosion and refraction does carry a ton of energy! Towards the end of our super busy schedule, we visited NYU. Unfortunately, NYU was closed. We were not allowed to enter any buildings. But I got to look at the buildings. A highlight of the visit to NYU was that we saw a tarot fortune teller in a nearby park. People who went up to the fortune teller all left with a smiley face. -Sandy Jiang
